Attending a Train-The-Trainer Course

Do you want to roll out an eduroam training programme in your country?

In order to help deliver eduroam training programmes for your institution, a two-day "Setting up eduroam train-the-trainer" course was established. This course is designed to equip you with both the technical knowledge and the training expertise to roll out training programmes for institutional eduroam administrators within your own country.

After attending the course you will be an approved eduroam trainer and will be ready to adapt and deliver training to other delegates from your country, potentially in your own language.

Structure of the course

On day one of the training, you will participate in the "Setting up eduroam" course. You will have the opportunity to take part in hands-on practical exercises, to ask the instructors questions and be invited to give feedback about eduroam. Day two of the course will focus on the non-technical aspects of training, including presentation skills, dealing with difficult questions, adult learning styles and how to create the right atmosphere for effective learning.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the training, you will be able to:
  • Describe eduroam services and technology.
  • Implement a Service Provider and an Identity Provider in accordance with eduroam policy.
  • Deliver eduroam training to other organisations within your country.

Target Audience

The train-the-trainer course is aimed primarily at existing eduroam administrators who are willing and able to deliver the training to potential eduroam administrators within their federations. To participate you must:

  • have a reasonable working knowledge of eduroam;
  • be willing and able to deliver the training to other institutions within your country;
  • possess good English language skills.
If possible, you should also:
  • have experience setting up an eduroam service provider;
  • have previous experience of developing and delivering training.
